{catching some morning sun}

today was such a beautiful day, the sun was shinning on my front deck and the warmth was amazing. so what did i do, i cleaned my whole house bar the one room that needed it most... my bedroom. i did so many loads of washing and now it's all dry :) (yes i'm very chuffed with my efforts today) jez enjoyed the sun too. i found her sun baking on the outside table.

i then went for coffee with my lovely friend lyn which i used it as an excuse to get jezel out of the house. once i got home i still had the guilts that jezel hadn't had a decent exercise in a while and i really couldn't be stuffed going for a run. so i thought "i'll get the bike out". i found myself hunting through cob webs and furniture that was stowed under the house. found a few good pieces for when i move out actually. so decorating dreamer aside i found what i was looking for and with a little wrestling i pulled the bike out and found that that it wasn't in the shape it was last time it was used (3 years maybe give or take) the rust had gotten to the back breaks but at least the front breaks worked fine. the front tire a little flat but wasn't a problem. the chain was rusty but the wheels went around alright. I chucked on my dads helmut which flopped around. not really trendy but neither was the rest of my outfit choice so i headed off with dog in tow! i was just outside the front gate when i pushed off and the gears skipped and jerked. i was nearly face in the dirt. i pushed off again lighter and everything was fine. got about half way to my destination with a few jerks of the chain skipping but didn't bother me too much, i then discovered if i put the gear to a lower level i would have much less problems. with wind in my hair, jez and i had a lovely ride. i think i enjoyed it more than jez though. she has been asleep since we got home. she isn't used to that speed. although she is kelpie there is sure a lot of that lazy jack in her. it's good because she is satisfied with an easy walk rather than i rigorous run and jump. really she is a dream dog. 
over all the ride was nice. but the bike not the best. I have an old school white bike under the house which is totes more stylish and i have considered fixing it up. just needs new brakes, gears and chain and it's good as new. that's next weekends project. 
although i do dream of a very pretty new schwinn to cruise around town on,
