I have some news!... no I’m not getting married.. but as you know my girlfriend is and she has asked me to be her bridesmaid! Hoorah! I’ve never been a bridesmaid before so I don’t know what the expectations of a bmaid is? Is there a job description? A little handbook?
My friends are not the conventional type and neither are they overly traditional. They have done everything the other way round. They already have 2 beautiful little girls and a little underground tea shop in the making. Next on their list, wedding and a house. Who know which will come first?!
She is having 5 bridesmaids and no maid of honour! Who said you have to have one anyway?
So what’s my obligation as a bmaid? Do I need to be at her becking call and organise all the bits and bobs? Who organises the hens? I quite fancy myself as a “event organiser extraordinaire” just ask my friends, anyone I work with and my family?!
I am already amending her dress and making decorations for their engagement.
To be honest I’ll sit tight and see. I look at so many blogs which lead into pretty bridal blogs so now I have an excuse to blog about them without looking desperate!
My fav blogs are once wed, Martha Stewart weddings, with a long list of others. But I just wish Melbourne had a wedding expo like hitched! Weed out all that tacky wedding drama and just have beautiful, urban, unique inspirations! If I see one more invitation with gross grain satin ribbon and scrap booking trims ill pewk!
