{domestic queen}

I had such a big project weekend! I haven’t so much as finished any projects as I have started projects. Only a couple more months until we move and we haven’t even found a house. It’s hasn’t stopped me from planning and sourcing all the furniture and décor!

I need to work on a list of things a already do have and then search for the items which I don’t. seeing as it is our first move out of home it’s all about what is most required firstly. Yet I’m not going to substitute my style for a cheap find… all the time.

I hunted the opp shop and found some dishes which will be good for serving dips. My mum has always had great serving dishes and she has a dish for everything! Food presentation is what makes eating and entertaining fun!

That’s why I also headed to my favourite importers… kyo! I’m so in love with this place. I ended up walking out with a couple of door knobs for my little project I will share with you once it’s finished… and a hide of leather in a pinkie salmon colour. Beautiful! I also made some jewellery out of it over the weekend which again I’ll share another time. I’m making a few pieces to put in my friends little shop… another post to share later once the business name is confirmed and the opening date is ahead!

I found several pieces of furniture under my parents house including a double bed, set of vintage drawers and a side table which I plan to place in our lounge area with hopefully a cool vase and special treasures. I’ve got it all sorted out in my head! I sanded all of the furniture back and now I’m not sure what depth of varnish I want to add?! I don’t like a very orange colour so I was thinking a very dark brown but it’s not the true colour of the wood. I’m in love with the midcentury Danish look and hope to find a few pieces from that era but I don’t want to colour up my furniture until I know what colour scheme I want. Oh decisions decisions!
Also over my weekend I made some banana bread for my work palls, red curry, and a mushroom and leek tart! Scrumptious!
Quite the domestic goddess this weekend!

sorry not so great behind the camera so i thought i'd let my hipstamtic do the walking but it's quite shady! i'm no photographer!
